What is Step Into Prep?
Step Into Prep is a free 16-week, Term 3 and 4 program building on children’s 
social and emotional skills as they transition to formal schooling.
Gracemere State School offers a FREE Step Up Into Prep program for children turning 4 by June 30 and starting Prep in the following year.
- Children attend with their parent or caregiver.
 - Siblings are welcome.
 - Bring along a water bottle, lunch box and a hat.
 
When?
- Term 3 and Term 4
 - Wednesday mornings starting Week 2, Term 3
 - 9:00-11:00am
 

 Benefits:
- A term-based program using a playgroup format where parents stay, play and learn with their child.
 - Builds a child’s social and emotional ‘skills’ bank as they transition to formal schooling through engaging in age and developmentally appropriate learning games and routines.
 - Creates opportunities to experience the school environment and to build relationships with teachers and administrative staff.
 
What do participating families receive?
- Voucher for school shirt and hat from Inferno for students reaching attendance requirements.
 - Free playgroup sessions for their child over Terms 3 and 4.
 - Access to a range of age and developmentally appropriate resources
